I grabbed his arm, pulling him with me back to our room. I turned my attention to Bane, who was nodding off against the wall. "Of course! I love this little guy!" She rushed off with him. "Hey, can you watch Quinn for an hour or two? Ferrah needed some sleep she's exhausted." She gladly took Quinn under her wing. Finally, I caught sight of Cain's mate, who had just had a pup not too long ago I rushed over to her. Bane's hair had grown to his shoulders, and his usual faded 5'oclock shadow was now growing into a beard. He stayed up most nights I could feel him tossing and turning. I sighed Bane had been worrying me lately. "I drugged her to get her to sleep, and I'm about to do the same to you if you don't get your ass to bed," I warned. Although he had bags under his eyes, he still managed a smile as he gently stroked Quinn's head. "I'm surprised you got Quinn out of Ferrah's arms." I turned to Bane, who had slept probably less the Ferrah since Finn's death. If anything, they were accepting that I was now part of them. Everyone was paranoid by the thought of someone overtaking Finn so quickly oddly, they didn't blame me for his death. It had been a couple of months now, and things were a little on edge. I let him death grip my finger as I carried him out of Ferrah's room, closing the door behind me. He followed it with his beautiful big brown eyes. I'll hold you for now until she wakes again, okay?" I wiggled my finger at him his eyes widened, mesmerized by it. "Hi sweetheart, don't worry, your mama's fine. Quinn slipped from her arms I hurriedly grabbed him holding him close to my chest. "I just-I want." Ferrah's head fell limp as her arms dropped down. It was tasteless any moment now, she would knock out. So I decided to have her drink an elixir without her knowing. I had tried everything to get her to sleep. "I know.I can't." She rocked Quinn back and forth in the rocking chair. "Ferrah, let me take Quinn for a little while. Although we searched relentlessly, we never found his body. Finn was mourned for a whole week after I found out he was dead. Once he spoke her name, a bright light flashed from my eyes, showing me a life I never knew I had lived and a love I never knew I'd had for this man.Ĭhange can either be the thing that changes and exhilarates you or leaves you broken in ways you never knew possible.įerrah had taken her loss so heavily, we all felt it. "How much have you ached for my touch, Selene. "Still the same soul.tell me-" He leaned into me, pressing his body against me. "You seem to have taken on a new name my love." "I've been asleep for a millennia." He caressed my cheek again. Something told me I did know him, my gut fluttered at the thought of this man in front of me. "Don't you remember me love? We shared the night sky together." This man, who ever he was sang to my very soul and it frightened me beyond belief. My body shuddered at his touch, I shouldn't feel this way.it's wrong. "Lovely, you have no need to be scared." His cold pale hand snaked across my cheek. A Man, pale white and with bat like wings and piercing eyes closed in on me. The shadow started to take form in front of me. The shadows followed my every move as I backed into the wall.
